If an employee has completed his 5 years of service in a company, he is now eligible for his gratuity payment. Can anyone please explain whether the company is responsible for paying the total amount or if it is paid by the government? What is the proper procedure to receive the gratuity amount? Please explain to me.

Gratuity Calculation

For gratuity eligibility criteria, employees who have served 5 years or more are eligible. If an employee has served 6 years, 7 months, and 15 days, it is calculated as 7 years for those whose basic salary is more than 3500.

ESI Eligibility

Only permanent employees are eligible for ESI. The deduction for ESI is 1.75% from the employee's side and 4.75% from the employer's side.
