Dear Sheela,

You are in the right platform, don't worry. Every good thing starts with small achievements. If you think you are good enough or have completed around 6 months or more in a recruitment firm, start looking for HR jobs in companies. Private Ltd. companies will also do. Don't rush into things. In the next stage, you can target some big brands. Try to grasp as much as you can in the first two years; success will follow. Don't worry.

All the very best. Do good and one more, and most importantly, never lose hope and confidence.

Hi Sheela,

You are on the right track. Just have patience and learn things step by step. Recruitment is the first and the most important part of HR. Even recruiting jobs require a lot of skills to identify the right people for the right job. So just learn things well and then start looking for a job in some Pvt. Ltd companies.

Keep up with self-learning and never give up at any point, even if the job becomes monotonous or very hectic because the HR profile is very broad, and timely updates are necessary to excel in this field.

I'm sure that by following the right path, you will soon become a hardcore HR person in a few years.

Wish you good luck :)

Dear Sheela,

Kindly start by understanding what recruitment is. Take one step at a time. Then, understand the market situation. After that, try to comprehend the client/business requirements and check if you are able to find the right candidate for the right position. Aim to close as many positions as possible within the given TAT. Work on positions at all levels. Understand the prerequisites and common skills in a particular industry/sector.

Kindly do this and let me know if you need any more help.

I think that having completed an MBA, you need to be confident because of the knowledge base that you have. Secondly, interact with other HR professionals, such as through HR forums and by joining HR associations. By doing so, you will be able to share knowledge and improve your network.

Coming back to your question, start with payroll and statutory processes, recruitment procedures, and make sure to have HR templates to help you begin working.

Above all, keep in touch with your CiteHR friends!

Dear Sheela,

Please learn about payroll, EPF, and ESI. Understand their formalities, related forms, how to fill them, and the rules for submitting monthly and yearly returns for EPF and ESI. Also, learn how to fill the challans. HRM is a vast field, and the more you learn, the more you will need to know. We are fortunate to have this site for assistance. My best wishes for your future. Always remember: "When the going gets tough, it is the tough who get going."

Thanks for your response. Where can I find the forms that guide me on how to fill them, for what purpose they will be used, and whom to submit to, etc.? I have downloaded some formats from the site and also from Google, but I don't know exactly where those forms are submitted or used.

Hi Sheela,

I have just completed my training at Cadila Pharmaceuticals. I am still an HR student, but as a student of MHRD, I can only advise you to concentrate more specifically on HRP/MPP and PA. By following these two areas, you will become more familiar with other core HR terms, I guarantee you. Don't worry. If possible, always refer to Stephen Robbins. As an MBA student, you would be familiar with him because most of the HR gurus have written books and articles referring to Robbins. I hope this will be very helpful to you.

Dear Sheela,

Here, I am sending you the steps we go through at the time of joining any employee. This was prepared by me, so if you find any mistakes, please let me know. I am also a learner, just like you. In fact, I am still a student in my 4th semester. I am working part-time, and currently, I am fortunate as the HR Manager in my organization has resigned, giving me the opportunity to oversee all HR work. Although there is no one here to teach me, I am determined to "turn the files and run the Dept."

Let me know which forms you would like to know about. I have attached the document file; I hope you will find it helpful. The password for the document is "rajan."

Goodbye and take care.

Do you know one thing? Recruitment is not an easy task; even for this, we need to know how to interact and communicate with others, which will be beneficial for you in the future.

Dear Nidhi,

Thank you for your valuable response and the resourceful document. It has helped me a lot, especially since I was only aware of PF 6500. If you have any formats related to employee onboarding or HR policies of the company, could you please share those files? Thanks for guiding me; I have also prepared some KRA for recruitment.
