Hi,
To my knowledge, an induction program should contain the following aspects:
1. Introduction to the organization.
2. Introduction to the job profile.
3. Roles and responsibilities of the position.
4. Policies and procedures that are to be followed.
Hope our HR friends could extend the discussion with their ideas.

Hi Amit,
I would like to know the procedure to go about for induction. By this, I mean to ask whether we need to go for a presentation, induction manual, or what? I know the contents to be covered, but how is the question.

Hi Raty,
As we all know, visual effects last for a long time in the mind of an individual, and it would be more effective to describe a team. Therefore, the induction program should consist of a PowerPoint presentation rather than relying on manuals.
Here is a checklist to keep in mind when planning an induction program:
Checklist for Planning an Induction Course
1. Have appropriate rooms been booked?
2. Are the rooms big enough for all course activities?
3. Is the level of heating/cooling appropriate throughout the venue?
4. Is the lighting right for slides and the overhead projector?
5. Is blackout material available if required?
6. Is the sound quality adequate?
7. Is amplification required?
8. Are there enough seats?
9. Are the seats comfortable enough for the entire course duration?
10. Are there an adequate number of power points available?
11. Have you considered possible interruptions and taken measures to prevent them, such as:
a. Telephones in the training room
b. Noise from adjoining rooms
c. Noise from outside
d. Unrestricted entry
12. Do participants need to bring anything?
13. Have you sent joining instructions, including:
a. A map
b. Details on how to get to the venue
c. Start/Finish times
d. Train/Plane times
e. Dietary requirements
f. Names of course leaders
g. Contact address and telephone numbers
h. Has attendance been confirmed?
14. Is the preparation completely professional?

Hi, I just want to tell that the induction program is a simple and most important task performed by HR managers. This is only to make new employees comfortable and familiar with the new environment. It is the initial training given to employees to make them comfortable and to provide them with security about their career growth within the organization.
I hope that will help.

Hi,
I am new to citeHR. I must say it is an amazing tool for knowledge and content sharing. I am very new to L&D domain. My background experience is of an HR Generalist. Can you help me in developing this new profile as my core competence in the future? I am keen to learn about "train the trainer" modules as a start. Can someone help me by providing the details of this program? I don't have time to go and attend this training outside, so I would like to utilize this mode of learning online.
