In my recent interview, I was asked about the two parameters of a factory license. When I heard this question, I was a bit confused and couldn't answer it. I realized that I should have clarified my doubts with the interviewer at that moment. However, after the interview, I asked several people about it but received no response.

There are two basic things to be considered for issuing or renewing a factory license, namely, the number of employees employed and the total connected horsepower of the machines installed at the factory. This is because the fees are decided based on these factors. However, other issues such as pollution certificates, sanitation certificates, etc., are additional factors that directly impact the issuance of a factory license. I assume the interviewer was referring to the primary considerations mentioned earlier.

The license should not be taken with fraudulent intention or by hiding the material facts. The plans of building and machinery should first get approved from the factory inspector. For a license, two parameters are the number of persons and installed power capacity. For example, if the number of persons employed is less than 10 with power, the license will not be granted. Similarly, if the number of persons is less than 20 without power, the license will not be granted.
