Dear Member,

ISO Abbreviation - International Standards Organization... Basically, the ISO is a certificate which is issued to a unit for its products, similar to our ISI. I am working in an ISO 14001 & TS 16949 institution. So, I will share my views on the above-mentioned certifications.

ISO 14001 certification is given for Environmental Management. TS 16949 is a certification given for continual improvement, specifically for a Total Quality System. Some organizations set up to obtain this certification include DNV and TUV. If you want to learn more about this, please visit the websites of the companies mentioned above.

Dear Satish,

Please note that the full form of ISO is the International Organization for Standardization. ISO is issued to all units irrespective of their size and scope for processes, whereas ISI is issued especially for products. Therefore, ISO is process-oriented, and ISI is product-oriented.

So, please correct yourself.

Hi,

ISO stands for the International Organization for Standardization, which is the certification given for a quality management system. This means you should establish a system in your organization (manufacturing, services) according to the requirements of ISO 9001:2008. Then, a third party (certification body) will review your documentation against ISO 9001:2008 and assess the implementation for effectiveness based on your documents. ISO 9001:2008 can be obtained by any type or size of organization or business.

TS 16949 is a technical specification standard created for the automotive sector and its supply chain. The standard emphasizes process stability, repeatability, and reproducibility. In the automotive industry, precision is crucial, as is meeting customer commitments.

ISO 14001 focuses on how you manage the environmental system within your organization. This involves the level of care taken to reduce or eliminate pollution of air, water, and solid waste.
