Hi,

I do not think it's ethically correct, and many times you have to use fake names, increasing the chances of getting into trouble. I believe this task should be left to the consultants to handle.

Hey, people!!

You know, something that the second reason why I fell in love with recruitment, other than talking to people and networking, is HEADHUNTING!! It just gives me a kick whenever I need it. A few mandates are like this - the client or you source the name, sometimes just the first name or the last name, call up the organization first and check if the person is really there or in which office. Second, use voice modulation to get to the person's desk phone. If he is not there, then get aggressive by saying, "Do you know who I am? Do you have any idea what will happen if I don't get to speak to him?" You get the number, speak to him, and get back to the client in less than 15 minutes! This gives me a high! I was with a contingency recruitment firm earlier where the mandates are given to numerous consultants, and you have to prove yourself about how good you are!

Nope, it's not an ethical issue! If you think yes, you can't survive! And if you think that you will be caught, use your imaginations, friends. Smart people can even get away with murder!

My experience with the headhunted candidates is that they stick well with the company that they are hired because by that time the industry would know them, and if they quit, then it's too easy to take their references! So, do you want to spoil your career for that? At least I won't!

Hi,

I feel that headhunting is one of the best prospects for sourcing the best profiles, especially when looking at higher levels of management. The sourcing of profiles is often primarily done through headhunting.

During this process, you may come across many aspects such as learning about the company you are hunting for, building relationships, presenting your company, and showcasing your skills in selling the candidates. :)
