Dear All,

I am writing a policy on leave for one of my clients based in Chennai. Could anyone help me out with the Tamil Nadu Shops & Establishments Act regarding leaves? I would like to know how many casual leaves, sick leaves, and privilege leaves are allocated according to the Tamil Nadu Shops & Establishments Act.

CL-12 Available to employee from date of joining SL-12 Available to employee from date of joining PL- 12 As per company Policy

Casual Leave – 12 days in a year

Sick Leave - 12 days in a year

Earned Leave - 21 days after completion of one year or 1 day for every 20 working days

Maternity Leave: Women employees with a minimum of 3 months of service can avail 12 weeks, which can be extended by 6 weeks in case of serious illness.
