I have joined a firm where the salary is given as a lump sum figure. The HR says you can design the break-up yourself as per your requirement. Kindly give me a break-up accordingly so that I can save maximum tax for a figure, say, 6.00 lacs per annum.

You can add CCA, HRA, Medical Reimbursement, Incentives or Bonus, PF. You can even opt to take Sodexo coupons, which would be really useful. Apart from this, you can also have LTA, Transport Allowances, Education allowances, Telephone expenses, Newspapers, Books & Periodicals, refreshments. Do consult your HR regarding these components.

Chitra, thanks for the advice. However, I need a proper breakup of the salary for Rs 50,000 per month with no PF, etc. The only deduction is Professional tax. To save TDS and overall tax, I need a breakdown designed to suit my requirements.
