Each person in your company can choose a Christmas friend and have everyone hang their gift on a Christmas tree. During the party, each individual can step forward to find their gift. Once the gift is found, they can reveal their Secret Santa. The chosen person can then perform a small act such as a song or dance to entertain their friend.

Give it a try!

Regards,
Shijit.

You can play games like Secret Santa. Write down all your employees' names on a piece of paper and shuffle it. Ask each one to take a name at random. Each person has to get a gift for the name they have chosen and place it very secretly before Christmas. After Christmas, they can reveal the names they have selected.

You can play the following games

The Grouping Game This is a good game to play as a mixer. It is a fun, fast moving game. It starts out as everyone collects in one big group. The leader initially calls out a number, usually a number between two and fifteen. The number shouldn't be more than half of the number of total participants. When the number is called out everyone must try to collect in a group that contains that number of people. The group members should be latching arms or have their arms wrapped around each other so that the leader can see who is in the group. If someone cannot enter a group because the number of required members has been reached, he is out of the game. As different numbers are successively called out the number of participants gets smaller and smaller. Eventually, there are less than ten people. The last group, or winning group, should have anywhere from two to five people.

Celebrities

Everyone writes the name of a celebrity, famous person or character on a piece of paper which they stick to the forehead of the player on their left (use tape or office Post-It notes). Make sure they don’t see the name.

Everyone else can see your forehead. The objective is to work out who you are.

Going around the table, each payer takes a turn to ask the party questions about who they are - answers can be YES or NO only. If you get a YES you may continue asking, if you get a NO play moves on to the left.

Last person to guess their name is the loser.

Simple, but very absorbing.

Noah's Ark

The group divides in two parallel lines facing each other across the room (perhaps boys/girls but doesn't matter). Each person is assigned an animal whose match is across the room somewhere. After being given a moment of thought, everyone in the room acts like the assigned animal and walks (crawls, flaps, waddles, etc) across the room in search of their mate. No human language is allowed. When people think they have discovered their mate, the go to the referee. The pandemonium proceeds until everyone has been mated.

To help with the assignment of animals perhaps you could make two sets of animal cards to pass out to people. In this case, the people wouldn't need to be in parallel lines across from each other. They could just be in a big circle or anywhere in the room.

Hi Bhavana,

If you want to conduct this game in your organization, here is a suggestion for team selection:

1) Gather all the staff/employees in a round circle and ask them to say 1 or 2.
2) Those who say 1 step forward one foot, and those who say 2 step backward.

Based on this, you can select the two teams. Mark a line between the two teams and start the game.

Thank you,
Bala Panmand

Hi Bhavana,

Tug of war is also a common game.

What is a Secret Pal Day or Secret Santa?

On a Secret Pal Day, all employees bring in a gift for their secret pal.

1. Pick the Pal
Each participant picks a secret pal and never tells anybody whose name they picked.

2. Shop
Each participant then shops for something they think their pal will like. The goal is to really find a true gift the secret pal will use and enjoy.

3. Creatively Wrap the Gift
The secret pal creatively wraps the gift over its original, unopened packaging. The gift must remain sealed and in the original wrapping.

4. Reveal Secret Pal
On Christmas day, all meet and each person invites his/her secret pal and tells their Secret Pal the story behind choosing the gift. They then hand their gift to their secret pal who opens the gift and enjoys it.

Hi Bhavna,

I would suggest a few games that can motivate teams and improve team management:

1. Find Your Partner:
Give chits to all the players with partners' names written on them, such as Jack and Jill, King and Queen, or any other funny names. Each person should identify their partner and share a single secret about the other person with the whole team. This game is a fun way to help people get to know each other's interests.

2. Card Game:
This game involves playing cards. Each person is given a card, and you can announce that all diamonds should form a group. The first group to form will be the winner.

3. Congrats Santa:
Divide individuals into teams and have them decorate their team member as Santa. The team that decorates their Santa the best will be the winner.

Believe me, these games, if played, will be a lot of fun!

Anyways, Merry Christmas! :D
