I don't think that nay area has been marked as 'nexalite area'. If you are sending a person to such an area where nobody has travelled to, then you have to travel first and see what will be the cost incurred. When the employer or his representative himself has travelled and studied the cost of spending a few days in such areas, you can easily fix the Daily allowance at such places. regarding the mode of travel the compnay may have policies depending upon the category of employees, like certain category of employees can avail Air, I Class Train/ I AC, II AC etc. There should also have the modes of local conveyance (from the Airport/ Railway Station to the station/ camp office) the employee shall take. It can be taxi, rikshaw or any other modes.

Hi Kavya

I am assuming you have a plant in Gagdicholi, which is naxal prone area.
Your post is not clear, but I assume the concerned employees stay in the plant colony for safety reasons. But you are allowing them to travel home once in a quarter to meet family.

Whether the cost is borne by company or employee depends on your policy and terms of employment. But if you want to attract people there, you should offer to pay for their travel home at regular intervals. What made you allow will depend on level of the person, access to airport and railway and the safety concerns for the travel.

I hope you have taken adequate insurance cover for your employees.
