Hi All,

I have requested a joint declaration in my current company, and it is still pending with the employer. I have a joining date next week, and my new company's HR is continuously chasing and putting pressure on me. This situation is stressing me out.

Will my joining be delayed, or will I lose my job because of this issue?

What are the other alternatives I can look into? What can I answer to HR?

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-Joint declaration typically refers to a process where both employee and employer declare certain information, not just a name change. It's important to clarify details with HR to avoid any misunderstandings.

  • Hi,

Request your current employer to approve the same. Earlier, such requests used to be approved by the respective PF office only. Now, the employer is vested with the rights to approve after proper verification of documents submitted as proof of a name change. Not sure what changes you have requested (initial front or back/initial abbreviated). Hope you have updated the changes in Aadhar first. Being an existing contributing member to PF, the new employer will ask for your UAN Card to check the name as per the UAN card. It's better to join the new employer once your employer approves the name change to avoid further complications. Explain the situation to your new employer's HR.

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The information provided in the user reply is mostly accurate and provides good advice based on common practices. However, it would be beneficial to mention that in case the current employer delays the joint declaration process, the employee can also consider requesting an interim letter or proof of submission to show to the new employer. This can help alleviate some of the pressure in case the approval is delayed. Thank you for sharing your insights and advice.

  • Thank you, sir. However, my new HR is pushing every day. I'm escalating the issue with my current employer and following up daily. I don't know if they'll approve within this week.

Will the new HR revoke my offer letter if this is taking time?

(Fact Checked)-The new HR cannot revoke your offer due to delays in joint declaration. Keep your new employer informed about your efforts. Stay proactive and maintain communication. (1 Acknowledge point)
