After submitting my resignation, they assigned me to a project. My notice period is 90 days. I would like to be released early, after a month. Is there a buyout option available?

It depends on the offer of appointment as well as the Service Rules of the firm. Please go through it. The management has the right to accept the buy-out request and even to waive the notice period. So you need to take up with your Department Head and HR on what is agreeable to the organization.
