Hello Everyone,
I have actually thought of joining one of the companies. They have completed all the necessary onboarding formalities by 4 pm on the same day. Later, some knowledge transfer (KT) was provided to me, but the roles they had promised and the actual roles don't match, and it will not help me grow my career in the future. Therefore, I have decided and sent an email to HR the next day stating that I cannot continue in this organization.
Interestingly, when I tried to check my PF member ID today, it is showing that the company has created a PF member ID with my joining date. Now, I have joined in my core role at a reputable company. Since they created a new member ID, will that affect my current company or only have an impact when I retire? Please advise.

Ask the company from which you left on the same day to exit you from PF. If they do not exit, you can exit from that company after logging into your member portal. Since no money should have gone, the previous employer should have marked the exit. Please find it on your portal.

So the company can delete the created member ID. And as an employee if they don’t do that keeping exit date by myself will not effect me in future na..

Hi,
In addition to the valid points made by Mr. Madhu, since your previous company assigned a PF number for you, they are likely to close your file only after processing the month-end salary. They may process one day's salary for you and forfeit it against notice, along with remitting one day's PF to the PF office. If they mark the exit date by the end of the month, there could be a clash between the Date of Joining (DOJ) of your current company and the Date of Leaving (DOL) of your old company. It would be advisable to speak with HR to clarify this situation.
Typically, we follow this process even if an employee absconds within 1-2 days; we process the salary and close the file.

Priya,
The company can either delete the ID created since there was no salary payout for a single day or keep it and exit on the next day itself. It will be visible to you in your member portal. You can check after a month. If no service history is available, then forget about it. If they have created it, then a service history will be available in the portal, and then you can decide to exit if the company has not done so themselves.
