Hi,

I served my resignation on August 10. I believe my 2 month notice period came into effect and I served my last day on October 10. I got my full salary for the month of August and September. But, my salary for 10 days of October was short of around Rs 200 when calculated with respect to the Net Salary for 31 days.

Q1) Is that salary for 10 days of October calculated on gross salary or net salary? Net is one that goes into my bank account.

Net + My EPF = Gross
Gross + Employer EPF = Final Salary (CTC)

Q2) Also, do they NOT factor Saturdays and Sundays in salary calculation?

Q3) What are my options? Any help would be great.

Regards
Underpaid Employee

Dear friend,

1) To arrive at the exact daily rate of salary from the monthly rate, the monthly salary can be divided by the actual no of days in a particular month.

2) Monthly gross salary includes only the components of salary payable per month before deduction of employee's statutory contribution to EPF, ESI only and not the other components mentioned in the CTC.

3) The paid weekly holidays and other holidays falling within the spell of the part service rendered in the month upto the date of relief would be included in the salary payable.

Therefore, adopt the above method of calculation and then decide the correctness of the part month salary actually paid.
