Dear All,

One of my past organizations had allotted the same UAN to myself and another employee. This error was brought to their notice by me after I left the organization. I have approached them to resolve the issue and also contacted the Regional PF office. Upon looking into the matter, the RPFC office has issued a notice to the organization asking to submit a few details. However, to date, the organization has not responded at all.

I look forward to suggestions/guidance from you all as to what further actions can be taken.

Thank you in advance!

Dear Poorna,

As rightly said by Mr. Bijay, it is not possible for one UAN to be allotted to two different employees. It may be a mistake from the employer's side.

Please try to find out your correct UAN by visiting the following link: https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.g...C928412A5E0C16

This will only help if your mobile is linked with your actual UAN. If the UAN you currently have does not belong to you, there is a chance that your contributions towards PF may get credited to another employee.

You need to act quickly on this matter.

Bijay, ND,

The OP has not bothered to respond to your replies, which is often the case, making me wonder if the post is authentic.

However, from an academic point of view, I think the issue may be that the company has internally communicated the same UAN to two people or has allocated the contributions of two individuals to the same UAN.

As you mentioned, the scenario of two employees having the same UAN is simply impossible.

Dear Banerjee,

I'm not sure about your salutation.

In one ECR, only one UAN detail can be uploaded. It is not possible for two different employees with the same UAN to be uploaded in the same ECR. It seems that the company mistakenly communicated the same UAN to two different employees.

Duplication of UAN is strictly handled on epf portal, so no employer can contribute for duplicate UANs. However it is possible that it is only a wrong communication from client end,
