Hello everyone,

My company has 35 employees (aged around 22 to 35), and our boss is planning a "GOA TRIP" in December 2021 to celebrate our orientation day. Being in HR, I want to set guidelines for the employees so that no one can create a nuisance during the trip. I understand that Goa is not a place to restrict everyone, but clear instructions are necessary from an HR perspective. I also require a signed declaration from employees, including their family members.

I would be very thankful if anyone can help out in this matter.

Dear Megha,

You need to create a draft of the office circular on your own. If you upload it here, someone senior like me will make the corrections. For reference to the letter of indemnity to be obtained from the employees, you may click the following link:

Excursion is a good motivating welfare activity. But if not controlled properly, it can be a menace. The objectives of such a trip include creating an environment away from the regular workplace, assimilating all employees, and observing people in the group.

Although it is free time, one's behavior should not be a problem for others. Hence, some restraints are necessary. The boozing time is fixed, and no one should drink at any other time. Everyone must follow the team leader and obey his instructions. Additionally, everyone must adhere to the given schedule.

Any adventurous activity must have prior permission from the leader. While fishing is acceptable, ragging and harassing should be avoided. I don't think anyone will object to these rules. On the contrary, if these rules are followed by all, everyone will enjoy to the maximum.

Finally, a declaration from the family is for primary school children, not for employees who have families.
