Dear Colleague,
Legally, under the provisions of the Contract Labour (R&A) Act 1970, there is a possibility of renewal of the license. The license is issued from a specified date to another specified date.
Practically, based on my experience, I suggest that you need to apply afresh for a new license when dealing with an expired license. You may reclaim the deposit by submitting a due application and then proceed to apply for a new license. This is the recommended course of action.
Furthermore, it is advisable to consult the Licensing Authority for further clarifications and to explore additional possibilities.

Dear Sarkarrkr,
Your Query: Can we activate an expired contractor labor license and reuse it again by paying the difference in the security deposit amount?
The Answer: Yes, you can renew the license by paying the relevant fees and fines, provided that the renewal is done within the timeframe of the work order issued to you by the Principal Employer. Otherwise, no.
The contractor license is issued by the authority through Form V, issued by the principal employer for the engagement of workmen under a contractor in their premises, under the provisions of the Contract Labour (R&A) Act 1970.
Furthermore, a license issued for one establishment cannot be used by the contractor for other establishments.
