My cousin aged 28 was working as an Engineer in a factory for the last 5+ years. He was unmarried and breadwinner. Parents were dependent on him.
During working hours in a factory, he got unconscious and was taken to hospital and the hospital declared him as being brought dead on July 21. The cause of death from the postmortem report was cardiac respiratory arrest. He was not having any history of heart illness.
He got promoted on April 21 FROM the SALARY LEVEL OF 20000 TO 22000. Before the promotion, he was under ESI and now he was not in ESI due to salary increment.
What are the compensation company should provide to his family? Please guide us.
Thanks in Advance

Other than EDLI (and the PF accumulation and Pension admissible) from the EPF Organisation and the gratuity payable by the employer, the employer is not having any liability since the death has occured due to natural cause though during the course of employment. On the other hand, if it could be established that he had heart attack due to work pressure, obviously, the death could be assigned to employment death falling under Employees Compensation Act. But without any evidence to show that the employer had put unreasonable pressure on the deceased, the employer has no liability to pay any compensation.
