Hello,

My present company suddenly discontinued the PF contribution, and as per the UAN status, it now shows Date of Exit as 31.03.2020.

My query: Can the management do this? I mean, there was not a single intimation to the employees. When we asked verbally, they said that above 15000/-, they can't deposit/deduct PF from now on.

Secondly, the PF amount that was being deducted earlier is now being added to our salary, but they refuse to provide me with the payslip. I joined in December '16, and there is still no formal HR support here, despite the employee strength being 170+ (Manufacturing Unit in the Bihar region).

Any suggestions on these issues, please.

Dear Sukanta Bhattacharjee,

It is totally wrong to discontinue your PF contribution and show that you are shown as exit when it is not so. Once you are a member of PF, you remain a member of PF forever until the time you are in service, even if your salary is reduced to less than Rs. 15,000. Even if you are appointed at a salary higher than Rs. 15,000 and enrolled in PF, your employer cannot subsequently claim that you were admitted to PF voluntarily and now wish to withdraw or stop it.

You are advised to file a complaint with the Regional PF Commissioner. However, ensure that you are not alone. Take care of your employment status. This situation is occurring due to corrupt officers in every government department, including the PF department.
