Hi, I want to know if our company awarded any contractor for some civil works and we are engaging 8 manpower from that particular contractor. So, is it compulsory to take registration under PF & ESI for the contractor? Please advice.

We have covered under Shop & Establishment Act,1962.

You need to provide some details to receive an answer. How many total workforce do you have, including those of contractors' workers? How many of these workers earn a salary less than Rs. 15,000 per month, excluding HRA? How many of these workers earn a gross income of less than Rs. 21,000 per month? Is your company covered under PF and ESI? In which state are you operating?
