Hello everyone,
Could anyone please let me know the scope of MSW after PGDM (HR) in a manufacturing industry? Will this qualification also be beneficial in other industries?
Currently, I am working as an HR Generalist in the manufacturing industry.

Dear Sonia,
I agree with Kritarth Consulting. Value addition is never futile. As a working HR professional with a Master's degree to your credit, my question to you is why do you wish to pursue another Master's degree, especially in the same stream? Both the PGDM (HR) and MSW degrees are equivalent with more or less similar syllabi, to my knowledge.
If you truly wish to enhance your value, consider exploring something different in a cross-functional area. You could consider studying CS or delve into Information Technology. ISTD is another viable option. Pursuing LL.B. could also be beneficial for your HR position. These are my personal suggestions.
Since you are in the manufacturing sector, you may want to consider registering as a Welfare Officer if your PGDM (HR) is recognized as a qualification for this role. Wishing you all the best.
Kind regards,

Hi Akhil,
Thank you so much for the valuable advice. As you mentioned, pursuing Training and Development from ISTD or LLB would be beneficial for me. I have shortlisted three courses: MSW, T&D from ISTD, and LLB. However, I am slightly confused as Training and Development from ISTD is a distance learning program, whereas LLB would take three years to complete. Can you please suggest some good colleges for working professionals, especially for LLB?
I would be highly grateful to you.
Regards,
Sonia

Dear Sonia,
I can not suggest you college in Noida or in North part of India as I am from Mumbai.
ISTD diploma is a distance learning Programme of 18 months duration but it is recognised by Govt. of India for training of trainers in the country and is designed to meet today’s Training/HRD challenges. At present a large number of ISTD Diploma holders are occupying senior positions in the field of Training & Development/Human Resource Development in various Central Government Departments, Public and Private organisations.
Admission for ISTD is currently on.
