Dear All, Please let me know if any employee wants to ML extension after completing her ML period 26 week. Can we extend, if yes, then please confirm how many days or Months?

If the extension is on medical grounds directly related to delivery, one month extension shall be given to maternity leave (with pay) whereas if it is not on medical grounds, you can either disallow the leave and ask the employee to join or approve it. The practice is to give leave without pay. Granting of leave is purely management prerogative and nothing prevents you from giving leaves she asks for.

Why the employee wants to for an extension beyond the 26 week of MB leave is matter ? Ask the employee to make an application with relevant support of document for her claim for additional leave.
You can consider for 4 week leave as additional maternity leave provided her case for illness as supported by a doctor’s opinion.
