My wife worked in a school as a teacher and now resigned from the institution on 18th March 2020 as she is pregnant. The school management wanted her to resign as she cannot continue as a teacher for the academic year 2020-2021 because she is pregnant. She is covered under the ESIC benefits and registered under ESIC from 2015. The current benefit start date and end date are 01-01-2020 to 30-06-2020.
Please let me know, can she apply for maternity benefits and payments? Also, please let me know the procedure for the same.
