1) Just read somewhere recently that now in the case of submitting a claim for EPF withdrawal, you also need to attach a cancelled cheque copy of the bank account that is linked to the EPF account. Is it true?

2) What details are required to be submitted while submitting a claim for EPF withdrawal?

3) Also, in the case of unemployment for more than 2 months, is 100% withdrawal possible from EPF?

Hi,

Submission of a canceled cheque was required when claiming through physical form submission. Now, with the successful implementation of the UAN portal, PF can be claimed fully, partially, or transferred to a new employer's account through the UAN portal itself. Only bank details authentication is necessary; a canceled cheque leaf is not required for UAN transactions.

If one is unemployed for 2 months or more, 100% of the PF can be claimed, including the pension. However, if the total service period exceeds 10 years, the pension contribution cannot be claimed and will be paid as a pension after reaching 58 years of age.

Thank you.

Please provide a clear photocopy of the Bank Passbook to EPF authorities. This shall serve the purpose; it should be ensured that your account number, IFSC Code, etc., are clearly visible in the photocopy. There is no need to attach a cancelled copy of a blank cheque.
