Hi ,
We have an employee who is a Bhutanese national and is working at Bhutan. We understand that as per Bhutan Law - the government provides medical coverage for all its residents. Could anyone here be able to help us if we are obliged to provide medical coverage inspite of the Bhutan Government covering it as per Indian and Bhutan Law ?

Hello Hsabeen,
Govts are running hospitals & clinics generally and offer most of the medical needs free of cost. It's very common despite govt.hospitals providing health & emergency treatment (in-patient as well as OPD) we do take extra care by way of Mediclaim policy/ESI coverage etc for obvious reasons. I don't have first hand info about the quality of medical care/attendance in Bhutan to its citizens and other residents. You may check it out thru' your sources and ascertain whether there is a need for additional compliance. Also check whether mediclaim & accident/life insurance will help in this regard.
