Dear Sir,
I am working in an MNC company, and we want to start a training program for our employees - staff managers and operators. How should I organize the training calendar and training budget? It should be very simple to understand.

Dear Mr. Ranjit,
It must be on the basis of two things:
1. Competency Gap
2. The future need for Business.
Please identify these two needs first. Then, based on priority and the availability of participants and faculties, prepare your training calendar. Feel free to ask for any support.

Dear Ranjit Sardar,
Employee training is an HR intervention. Any HR intervention has to fulfill the organization's need, and training is no exception. Therefore, rather than concentrating on individual needs, I recommend concentrating on bringing organizational change. First, measure the following:
a) Customer Dissatisfaction
b) Operational failures or quality issues
c) Maintenance issues
d) Under-utilization of capacity
e) Costs associated with each department
f) Reduction in turnaround time of various processes and so on
Employee training should address the above-mentioned issues or similar ones. Any increase or decrease in some ratio or decrease in some cost will help you measure training effectiveness. Therefore, your training calendar or training budget should be based on the points mentioned above.
Earlier, I have given a comprehensive reply on the subject of employee training. You may click the following link to refer to it:
