My friend worked in one company for the last 10 months. After that, he received information from the HR team that the company was going to move to another location. My friend decided to join another company without any paperwork. He also got a new job. Now, the old company is providing minimum wages arrears to old employees. He is eligible for that because he was working for a low salary amount while others were getting more. Is it possible to get the arrears from the company?

Please help me.

Hi,

Your friend worked for that company for just 10 months. I presume he left without giving any information and without following the proper exit process, which means his previous employer might have already initiated disciplinary action. So, if he is no longer an employee of the company, he cannot expect any benefits.

However, if he is currently serving a notice period at his new company, then the decision lies with the employer. Most employers typically do not consider requests from employees who are on a notice period.

Thank you.
