There is no option available for the insured employee to directly get treated in a private hospital of their choice. However, reimbursement may be possible only when ESI hospitals refer them for specialized treatment in private hospitals on their panel for purposes where such treatment is not available in ESI hospitals. This is a precondition to seek reimbursement.
