Dear Seniors
In our establishment we have declared 9 days as National & Festival holiday as per the act. In this declared holidays, (Example: 2nd October - Gandhi Jayanthi fall in Sunday).
Now is mandatory to declare another substitute day as holiday against 2nd October. Please clarify my query and post any relevant document for the same.

Hi
It is more to do with the policies of the company. It is not specified as such under the Shops & Establishments Act. There are some compulsory holidays that has to be followed and exceptions if any has to be taken from the concerned authorities but nowhere it is mentioned that holidays if it falls on Saturday/Sunday has to be compensated. Company has to take employees interests also into consideration and act accordingly.
Thanks and Regards
