I'm a HR working in a Private Sector
I see there are few amendments in the Maternity leave benefits and acts as on 2017.
1. Maternity Period extended from 12 weeks to 26 weeks.
2. Work from home option and others
I request anyone to please elaborate the maternity leave details of the below:
1. In order to avail the maternity benefit, how much mandate tenure the employee must complete with the company ?
2. Since when can the employee avail the benefit? before how many weeks of their delivery and how many after the delivery?
3. How much salary should be paid to the employee for the maternity leave employee?
4. Can we enforce in our HR handbook policy saying " the employee will be able to attain maternity leave benefit only after they have successfully completed 1 0r 2 years with the company"? Is this against the govt rules or in compliant with rules?
