I have joined a company in August 2017. I don't have any negative remarks in my work. Due to a severe health issue, I stopped working from June 2018, and I have not been in a position to communicate with the HR department and my team about my health. After two months of treatment, I recovered and informed my company about my condition, submitting all medical documents. However, I received a reply from the HR team stating that due to my two-month absence and lack of communication, my account has been closed, and I have been terminated. I was not paid during this absence. When I asked for any notification, they showed me an email referencing the warning I received while I was under treatment. The company has not provided me with a relieving letter or experience letter. Now, my query is: is there any possibility to rejoin the company? If so, how should I proceed? I am willing to go through the new recruitment process. Will the company consider my application for rejoining or allow me to attend an interview? I am keen on staying with the company as it is one of the best in the industry. Please address my queries and provide suggestions on rejoining.

Hi,

If you feel that the company is very good and you would love to join back, what is holding you from discussing the same with the management? It is better you talk to the management and see if they are interested in taking you back either from where you left off or as a fresh employee. As you have worked for less than a year, it should not matter much if you want to stay put in this organization. Do not try to ask for a relieving letter or final settlement at this stage; you will spoil your chances of getting back into the company.

Also, are you sure you can convince the management that you couldn't even communicate with them during your sickness period? Better keep all the records when you talk to them. Good luck.

Thanks and Regards

Dear ANONYMOUS,

Even though I am an HR professional, a similar situation happened to me. I had fractured my left leg and officially informed my top management, but after 2.5 months, that management didn't even reply to me. They also didn't have the courtesy to ask about my health or well-being.

ANONYMOUS, it might be better to consider finding another opportunity. I wish you all the best for your future endeavors. Take care of yourself!

Best regards,
