For gratuity calculation, any tenure served above 6 months is considered to be a full year while a tenure below it is not considered to be a full year. Under such a circumstance, His family is eligible for gratuity, however the amount of gratuity will be zero. This is due to the fact that he only served 3 months. Had he served a minimum of 6 months, gratuity figure would have been positive. .
