HR - The Best
Hello people.

How are you? this be my first post in this forum. happy to find such one foram which helping people in trouble like me. i recently joined one company as a hr executive 7 months back. my team being a team of 12 colleagues inclusive of me. everyone is good and supportive and help me with my problems. i joined as a fresher from college.

now the major problem for me is my boss who is hypocrite. he tells to do something and when i do that, tells he did not say me to do it. if the work done is good, he gets pat on back from senior members but if work is not good he tells he is not happy with me and that also all top management have complaint aghaisnt me and my attitude problem(which i am sure i dont have). i wanted to discuss it with my colleagues but i is not sure who the boss likes. and what if that person went and tells the boss about this. i dont want to lose my job nor i want to leave my first company very soon.

how do i deals with this? is this what the corporate world is? dont suggest me to talk to him because he has ego problem. if he may take it in the wrong sense, then i am total shit again. from the colleagues, i do not know whom to trust and whom not to. i also feels that they have a problem with him but noone is talking about anything because they are feared.

waiting for practical, sensible and serious suggesitons

Hi
Welcome to the world of Corporate and gaining such experience is really good,
This is not only your problem its a common which every fresher has to face on joing the companies, Theses old man or staff cant take the nnew joinees as they have a ego that am senior an have more knowldge than that person so what ever he is dooing is not correct, though its the world best thing, so what you i think you should do is when ever he gives you assignments to do you ask him number of question ang query and show him time to time, what you have done is as asked by him to do, so that in case he is going to say that i havent told this guy to do this you at that very momment can say that sir its done as per his instruction and guidance, you have to make him feel that he is really a very intellegent person, allthough you well know what he is,
I think you should foolow one thing
" Waqt padne par to gadhe ko bhi Baap bana na Padta Hai"
Ok
Pls its just a suggestion am sorry in case you dont like it

Hi there,
One has to tackle situtations like this very smartly. There isnt one solution to the problem as the environment you work in varies from organization to organization. Hence, if a particular solution works in one organization, it may or may not work in another.
Having said that, what I do alot of times when my boss asks me to do a particular job.....I try and get it in either pen and paper from him or ask him to e-mail me the task to be done. Hence, he doesnt have the opportunity to say, "I haven't asked you to do this"...
Hope it helps

Hi,
You shpuld not be worried.... Every fresher should go through this kind of situation... It makes you more competent and professional. In fact this is corporate world. Try to learn from your boss also. He is teaching you a lot indirectly.

Hi

I appreciate you for undestanding your boss & work enviroment within such a short span of time ....

As per my Knowlege & undestanding you have 3 ways to tackle this situation

1.Either be quite & stay in the company till u can adjust.

2. Leave the company

3.Talk

My suggestion...

Go ahead talk to your boss directly....i know he's egoistic but see whatever he's...he's your boss & @ this stage its more important for you to learn & grow...u can leave the company & go but then who will be affected ...it's only u ...Go to him ...Ask him for a feedback ...give him importance....& finally take him into your confidence....

It will definitely workout ....

Any task he gives you ...your updates should be both verbal & in mail form(even if he doesnt send you a mail) ....(1st a mail then & then update him verbally)

You have to take an extra effort & just keep yourself in isolation with your Manager while you are in the discussion...don't argue ..HAVE A DISCUSSION!

Hope things become smooth at your end.

Best wishes

Manisha

Hi,
As our forum members have been suggesting, there is nothing to worry against. This is common in most of the organizations. What generally happens is, when a fresher comes into an organization, he would be vibrant and having a lot of fresh ideas, which may throw the seniors in the organization to feel insecure. And thats the reason, they may behave indifferent with you.
Don worry my frend, as you may be in the same position in the future.Just let this pass by, do your work sincierly and iam sure you would be recognized very soon.Jus don let this minor things effect your work.
ALL THE BEST FOR THAT.
Ravi.

I agree with Manisha.

It has been my experience that what appears to be may turn out to be only our own perception.

As Manisha says, having a 1-on-1 with your boss helps him understand that you are trying your level best to LEARN. It also helps you to understand him better, so that you can change to meet up to his expectations. (This, by the way, is ALL a part of self-development.) If you have actually misread his intentions, then that will also become clear to you.

In the 1-on-1, also make it clear to your boss, that you are ready to accept anything as long as he takes the time to give you direction/ guidance etc.

There are very high chances that he will respond positively. It has been my experience that open communication ALWAYS tends to help improve mutual understanding and EVERY good relationship - whether personal or professional - grows out of such open and frequent communication.

It is in fact, lack of communication and falling back on assumptions that break down relations.

Hope my input helps you solve your current concern.

regards
