What is the system in your company for increment ? can you check why your boss asking for increment email, is this way for increment in your company. Please approach HR as well.

Dear Colleague,

This is a very non-traditional, outlandish requirement of your boss bordering on idiosyncrasy. He is not accepting your verbal submissions and wants you to write an email justifying why you should be given an increment. So write to him stating your achievements during this period supported by facts and figures. Be confident and do not hesitate to ask for a raise commensurate with your contribution. Leave it to him and be cool.
