Good question. Retaining employees is one of the challenges for any organisation. Attrition happens all the time.. The same motivation which make people to work in your organisation, makes the same person to seek alternative jobs for several reasons. Employees leave organisation for various reasons. Predominantly for higher salary, bigger responsibilities or growth, family issues, problems with his or her manager or boss, interpersonal issues within a team and so on. I have given the list in the order of percentage of reasons for leaving. To make them stay, to keep them motivated, you have to regularly give monetary increase, give them higher responsibilities. In reality, it may not be possible, even in largest of the organisations like the Tata or Ambani group of companies. If the leakage of manpower happens, if you cant plug it, open the inlet pipe bigger so that there is a constant inflow of talent. India has a plenty of educated but unemployed manpower. Keep recruiting them. As regards time management etc. people like me conduct lot of training programmes pan India and gulf countries and you can hire me.
