Guidance on Claiming PF from Closed Company and Recovering Lost Interest - CiteHR

Anonymous
Hi All, I worked for a company for more than 1 1/2 years, and it closed in March 2011. My entire PF accumulated before joining this company is lying in this account. As per the new rule for the last 2 years, I'm not getting any interest on my PF. Many of my colleagues from this company applied for transfer and withdrawal, but applications got rejected as there was no representation from the closed organization to validate the application. We were told that the withdrawal/transfer application will go to the employer for verification.

Queries regarding PF transfer and interest

I have the following queries:

1. How to transfer or withdraw the money.
2. Is there a way by which we can get the interest which we lost in the last 2 years and going forward.

1. How to transfer or withdraw the money - Visit your regional PF Office and apprise them of the situation.

2. Is there a way by which we can recover the interest we lost in the last 2 years and going forward? I believe the interest period is limited to 3 years. Why have you not contacted the regional PF office in the last 2 years?
