Hi, Candidates are applying for job through job portals or directly through the company website, once they got call from the respective HR, then they will attend the interview.
Usually we HR people will not say directly if the candidate got rejected.we used to say, your profile will be on hold list, if you get selected we will call you back.
But i thought that the candidate must know their actual result only then they can look for some other opportunity and they can develop their skills.
So I am conveying the candidates actual result to them.
Is it correct or do we want to say the same slogan "we will get back you".

Saranyadevi,

I respect the notion that you find an ethical fore in this context and try to be clear on the candidature status of applicants who are processed at your end. However, one must understand that this stand-by list or on-hold list is a standard procedure, if followed with caution, in the process of Screening. It ensures that the deciding authorities has ample choices of candidates with matching requisite skill sets while closing the final set of positions in context. This saves a whole lot of resources in organizing fresh round for Screening.

Having said that, your firm must have some unsaid protocols on how long the Candidates are put onto 'hold' before the TAT for closing those profiles are met. It is entirely a corrupt practice to not update the Candidates about their status. This unprofessional behavior maligns the image of the firm in long run. Before taking the decisions on your own, you must bring this practice to the higher management's worthy notice and make them aware about the implications it pose.

Regards.
