Dear Seniors,

As per the recent EPFO notification, EPF admin charges have been reduced from 0.85% to 0.65%. Hence, the overall EPF contribution is 12% for employees and 13.16% for employers, totaling 25.16% (previously 25.36%).

My doubt is whether the same notification mentioned any changes related to EDLI Admin charges. Can anyone please inform me if there are any amendments or proposed amendments to EDLI Admin charges, specifically a 0.01% change? I ask because one of the leading HR portals mentioned that the overall EPF & EPS contribution percentage is 25.15, omitting the EDLI admin charges of 0.01%.

Seniors, please clarify this for me.

The notification from EPFO primarily focused on the reduction of EPF admin charges from 0.85% to 0.65%, affecting the overall EPF contribution percentages for employees and employers. However, there was no specific mention of any changes to the EDLI Admin charges within the same notification.

To clarify, the total contribution percentage for EPF and EPS remains at 25.16%, with the breakdown of 12% for employees and 13.16% for employers. The reference made to a 25.15% contribution, excluding the EDLI admin charges of 0.01%, might not align with the official notification provided by EPFO.

As of the latest available information, the EDLI admin charges have not been altered by the recent notification. Therefore, the total contribution percentage of 25.16% as specified by EPFO includes all relevant components, including the EDLI admin charges.

For the most accurate and up-to-date details regarding EPF, EPS, and EDLI admin charges, it is recommended to refer directly to the official notifications and circulars issued by EPFO to ensure compliance with the current regulations.
