I am working at company A for the last 4.5 years. Prior to that, I worked for company B for 9 months. Due to some unfortunate incident, I was required to leave company B on bad terms. I opted out of PF contribution at company B, and they did not pay any PF on my behalf. I have no dues payable to company B.

If I omit my employment with company B from my CV, can a prospective future employer discover that I worked there for 9 months? I have been informed by a tax consultant that without my consent, my future employer cannot access the 26AS form that displays tax deductions from previous employments.

Could someone please assist me?

From a recruiter's viewpoint, the query is: what were you doing during the gap period? If you have a suitable reply to address this gap and provide a meaningful explanation to satisfy the person you are speaking to, then that would be ideal. Otherwise, the CV might receive some negative remarks.

Thanks for the reply. I am also involved with a startup and I can definitely show my experience with that firm. Do you think it is a feasible solution?

From a recruiter's view (don't take it personally),
it's tough to accept a startup candidate.
a) If the candidate is successful, they will surely violate the non-compete clause.
b) If the candidate is not successful, there is a lack of confidence/experience.
