Esic has stopped making smart cards since June 07. We have been told to make cards on our own with help of AADHAR card. Hould should we make the card ??
Sir, has ESIC advised you in writing to prepare or arrange the Permanent Identity Cards/Family Cards of workers in your unit? If so, could you please upload a copy of the communication in this thread?

Dear Sunil,
ESIC has stopped issuing Smart cards. Now, ESIC accepts Aadhar Card instead of the smart card, but it needs to be verified on the ESIC website for all family members. If the Aadhar Card is not verified, then no one can avail of the benefits.

ESIC has not discontinued biometric cards. Online biometric cards are still available in ESIC offices. The only change is that if an employer seeds the Aadhar number of an employee on the ESIC database, then the e-pehchan card, available online, will work as a biometric/permanent card.

Dear Mr. Sunil,
Please list all your employees who are ESIC members only and update the Aadhar Card details of the employees, their nominees, and their families if they have an Aadhar Card. Please verify the information by mobile number. Once the Aadhar card details are successfully updated in the members' IP, you can obtain a printout of the same. This will function as an e-Pehchan card, and there will be no need for a biometric card after updating the Aadhar card on the IP.
I hope this information is helpful to you.

Hi,
As it has been said, biometric cards are still being provided to employees by ESIC Dept.
A few changes have been introduced. Details of Aadhaar Card / PAN Card must be incorporated into the data. If mandatory details have been submitted along with the Aadhaar card, in that case, Biometric is not necessary. Biometric Cards are being provided.

Dear Sir,
If an ESI-insured employee's family member's Aadhaar number is not fed into the ESI database because the mobile number is not registered in Aadhaar, could you please suggest a mobile number that can be linked to all Aadhaar numbers for OTP verification? Is this possibility?
Thank you.
