Hi All
We want to start a business analyst group in our company. Could somebody help me by giving the syllabus as to what training must be imparted on a coding guy with three years of experience to make him a business analyst.
As per my knowledge a Business Analyst requires to have skills like
>Presicion questioning
>Requirement Gathering
>Eliciting information etc. and many other skills
Would appreciate your help on this buddies...its an urgent requirement.

HI,
TO CREATE BUSINESS ANALYSIS REPORT FOLLOWING DETAILS ARE REQUIRED
DATA ANALAYSIS
FORECASTING CHANGE
FORECASTING DEMAND AND SUPPLY IN TERMS OF BUSINESS & MARKET AND NOT JUST PRODUCT
MARKET ANALYSIS
THEN AGAIN THE ABOVE DATA HAS TO BE DIVIDED INTO PRIMARY DATA & SECONDARY DATA
THEN AGAIN, NO BUSINESS ANALYSIS IS COMPLETE , WITHOUT ANALYZING THE COMPANY'S OWN BUSINESS STRATEGY AND BUSINESS PLANS
THERE IS MORE TO BUSINESS ANALYSIS, AT LEAST MINIMUM OF SEVEN PEOPLE ARE REQUIRED TO DO BUSINESS ANALYSIS FOR A MID SIZE COMPANY
THANK YOU

Hello,
In continuing what octavious just mentioned, carry out a little bit of ground work and understand the profile of BAs hired in other similar profile organisations. Also, companies hire BAs for various profiles with some of them in requirement gathering, delivery, project management, business development etc. So based on where u plan to place them u could give them some inputs in -
1. Basic Soft skills
2. Cross cultural Sensitivity
3. Data crunching
4. Basic selling skills
Also do take up a session on Understanding of ur company strategies and how u are looking at value addition from thier end.
I hope this contributed to your understanding
