Hi All Friends,

I want a salary structure for Rs 8000 per month for an employee working in BPO/KPO as a Data Entry Operator. The package does not include telephone bill, petrol, or travel allowance. Please advise if it is mandatory to deduct PF from the salary.

Dear Friend,

Greetings of the day!

Please share the location/state of your company. We will need this information to consider the minimum wage for your location. Kindly refer to the PF Act for PF deductions. The number of employees working in your organization will determine the deductions for PF, ESIC, and other statutory requirements.

Please keep me informed of any further developments.

Thank you.

Dear Cesta,

Greetings of the day!

In my opinion, you will have to follow the Minimum Wage Act rules in your organization as the salary offered is not in accordance with government directions. As there are 15 employees covered in your organization, you will only have to deduct ESIC. PF deduction is compulsory only for organizations with 20 or more members.

Please let me know your further anticipations.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Can someone please help me with the actual salary breakdown or salary structure to be shown in the appointment letter? As mine is a new company, I am not so sure about it.

Thanks again.

Prima facie, your company is not abiding by the provisions of Minimum Wages Act.

Just out of curiosity, why is there a need or justification of washing allowance for a BPO

You need to follow the minimum wages prescribed and notified by the State Government. At present, the minimum wage for a laborer is approximately Rs. 300 to Rs. 350 per day. Please check and understand from this example. Suppose the rate is Rs. 320 x 26 = 8320, which is the wage payable per month. If applicable, ESI contributions will be separate.
