Hello, I am working in a pharma company as an HR. My MD wants to create detailed job descriptions for each employee and have each employee sign it to confirm their agreement to the job responsibilities. Can anyone suggest the best format for a job profile?

Dear Ankita,
There is sufficient discussion on how to create a Job Description (JD) on this forum. You could have referred to the past threads.
Secondly, JDs need to be customized. These differ from one industry to another and one company to another. Therefore, what you need to do is to sit with each individual and understand how they execute their job. You may ask them what their daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly activities are and list them out. In the above duties, you may list out primary and secondary duties. Generally, the ratio of primary to secondary is 80:20 or 90:10.
JDs uploaded on the job portal may require additional information for each position like:
- Age range
- Qualifications (compulsory and desired)
- Whether there are gender-specific requirements
- Whether night duties are involved
- Whether there is a requirement to lift weight or do any other heavy job
- Whether there is a need for specific types of licenses
- Whether certain certification courses are necessary
- Whether knowledge of the geographical area is required
- Whether specific Computer/IT skills are needed
- Whether unique knowledge or skills are required
- Whether climbing on a tower or handling jobs at a height is necessary
- General medical fitness and any specific requirements
Thanks,
