Dear seniors,

After a long gap today, I went to meet my previous employer, but I was not able to meet them. They said all executives are in a meeting, so I can't meet them today. They asked me to come tomorrow. (I left this company 6 months ago). I have not yet received my original certificates. Please guide me on whether I should please them tomorrow or fight with them to get back my certificates.

Thank you.

Hi, I want to know whether you have completed your Exit formalities, if yes, then you would have got it that day itself.

Thank you for your immediate reply.

I resigned from that job due to health issues, and I did not serve my notice period, so they are responding in this manner. I only worked there for 2 months. On my last working day, I was transferred to a new section, indicating that I had already handed over my previous tasks to someone else.

Go and sit in their office for the whole day until everyone leaves the office. If none of them come forward to meet you and give you a proper reply, come back home and draft a letter stating your full story. Mention that you have called several times and emailed multiple times. Since none of them have responded and returned your original certificates, you are forced to file a police complaint. Also, you will be approaching the labor department if a reply to this letter is not received within 48 hours. Take a printout of all the emails you have sent and attach them. Send this letter to the CEO and HR head through Registered post with an Acknowledgement card. Provide your working phone numbers and alternative numbers in the letter for them to reach you.

Once you receive the acknowledgment card, visit their office once again. If you still receive an improper response, file a theft complaint at the local police station. Attach the police complaint copy and submit it to the Labour department. This action will resolve the matter.

First, try to resolve the matter amicably. Otherwise, you can follow the above procedure.

Thank you for your suggestions.

What I heard about their present mindset is that they are in need of staff due to many employees being relieved from there. If I go there and talk with them, they will try to force me to join again. If I don't accept, they will not release my certificate.

Dear seniors,

I called them today before visiting the place. They said I can't meet the executives today as they all have important meetings regarding auditing, I think. (I think they are purposely postponing my issue.) What shall I do now? I am very much depressed because of this issue for the last six months.

Please guide me seniors.
