Employment Experience at D.A.V. International School
I worked at D.A.V. International School in Ahmedabad starting in June 2013. I faced an interview and received an appointment letter as an ad hoc teacher on a contractual basis. After one year, they conducted a panel interview and promised to put me on a probation scale but did not provide any letter. Later, a new teacher in charge arrived and did not issue any appointment letter. She mentioned that the previous committee was disbanded, and I would need to face another panel interview, which she considered a formality for in-house teachers and assured it wouldn't affect my job.
However, a week before the vacation period, the principal announced that there was no selection in the panel interview, and my last day would be on May 7, 2016. There was no written notice; the decision was communicated verbally. This affected around 40 teachers who were close to getting a scale and salary hike. I reached out to the management via email to inquire about the reasons but have not received a response to date. Can I approach the labor court for this issue? Please advise me on the next steps.

First of all, all of you write individual letters to management to put your views across. If and when you find no response, go to the State Education department and put your complaints in writing. You must be having a District Education officer in the area. When all else fails, go to court after consulting a good labor advocate. In the meantime, read your state education code for rules and regulations.
