Joining Date Dilemma at ONGC: Can I Legally Extend My Start Date Until May? - CiteHR

I have been selected in ONGC, and they have given me time until the end of March to join, but I need time until the end of May. They said they will not extend my date of joining. Is there any legal process through which I can extend my date of joining or any other path to extend the date of joining?

Good afternoon,

Public sector firms are pretty stringent with rules because their processes run very long. If you have been scheduled for a date of joining, your training starts corresponding to that date. Each batch of Management Trainees is indexed as per their joining. Hence, I am not sure if they would be able to consider. If I am not mistaken, similar to other public sector firms, they have a year-long training following that.

Wish you all the best!
