Want to learn about the role of a Purchasing Officer as I am currently working in the same field. I don't have any guidance from seniors, and they are not fully knowledgeable about their own job. Please share any insights regarding the responsibilities of a Purchasing Officer. I am struggling to perform my job without proper knowledge, and I have completed my Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Seeking advice and help to enhance my understanding.

Dear Narendra,
Why do you not have the guidance of seniors? Are you working alone in the purchasing department? When choosing a job, you could have selected a position where seniors are available.
To enhance your knowledge, consider pursuing a Diploma in Materials Management (DMM) through the Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM). This institute has a chapter in each state capital. You can find further details by searching on Google.
There are training companies that offer 1-2 day training programs on Purchase Management, Inventory Management, Negotiation Skills for Procurement professionals, and more. It would be beneficial for you to attend such programs. If you let me know your city, I could recommend a specific course for you.
I conduct training programs in various areas of procurement and management, including Purchase Management (basic and advanced levels), Inventory Management, Vendor Management, Negotiation Skills, and more. I am a leading procurement faculty in India.
