Hello Everyone,
I represent Indian private company which is subsidiary of one of the Global company having presence around 30 countries in the world having more than 1000 employees. However in India we have around 50 employees and an office in Mumbai (service sector)
I wanted to understand which labor laws are applicable to us? We have taken PF and gratuity coverage. We also have group mediclaim and personal accident policy. Do we need to follow any other statutory obligations?
Please give your valuable advice.
Thank you,
Vaishali

Dear Vaishali,

Whether all the employee are directly on your roll, or you have hire some employee from any Contractor or take contract to deploy menpower at any site.

If so, than you are covered under CL (R&A) act, 1970 as well.

As per your querry it seems u r asking only about the legal and statutory compliances, registration.

But there are some more Act, Policies, Procedures which are being adopted/followed by big organisations. Some are of routine nature and some arises at certain point of time

Maternity Benefity Act. (If ESI is not applicable than you have to provide the benefit.

(Pls make sure the mediclaim policy obtained by you cover the Meternity Benefit).

Payment of Bonus Act.

Minimum Wages Act.

Payment of Wages Act.

Workmen Compensation Act (Now known as Employees Compenstation Act).

There can be some policies defined by company keeping in view welfare, discipline, controlling aspects related to employees.

Descipline Policy

Loan Policy

Leave Policy

Re-imbursement Policy (Conv., Telephone, other exp.)

Recruitment Policy

Staff Promotion

Training Policy

Travel Policy
