Dear HRs, I had been working for a private firm as an accountant, and I was fired from my job without any prior written warning. They did not provide me with a relieving letter or complete any other formalities. After being fired on moral grounds, I went to their office at their request more than five times and handed over my key responsibilities to other employees, despite being terminated, as I did not want to sever ties for the future. However, now they are constantly calling and harassing me after I asked for my salary, bonus, leave wages, and Sunday overtime wages (settlement). They have even threatened police action if I do not cooperate with them.
I am afraid as a previous employee who was involved in a case of cheating amounting to Rs. 94 lakhs, resulting in legal action and jail time. This person is connected to the management. They are claiming they will bribe the police to take action against me. I have emails documenting our communication regarding my settlement, where they agreed to pay only a small amount.
Seeking Legal Assistance
What should I do? Are there any legal agencies, such as labor or employee law organizations, that can assist me in receiving my settlement and resolving this situation? Please advise.

Understanding Your Situation
You were an accountant in a private company. I assume there were one or two people in the accounts department, and you probably headed the accounts. There was a fraud, and someone related to management is in jail. You were either aware of the problem and didn't report it, or you did not notice the problem. As a result, the management considers you guilty and terminated you. For fraud, they are not required to give you a warning letter or another chance to defraud them again.
Financial Settlement Concerns
They have not given you last month's salary, leave wages, bonus, or money for Sunday working. Regarding Sunday working, in a small private company, accountants typically do not receive that money, so you might want to forget about it. However, the rest is legally eligible, and you are entitled to receive it. Nevertheless, given the circumstances where you are linked to the fraud, it might be better to forget about that amount and move on. It is obvious that your former employer has some evidence against you, either for involvement or for negligence.
