Hi,
I am 18 months pregnant and working in the sales dept. and we get the targets to achieve. In the last 2.5 months I have not achieved the targets given to me. Finally they have given me the notice of one month.
I am trying my level best but it is affecting my health. Since I am pregnant I won\'t be able to find out the other job.
Now I am in full depression that what should I do. Can they terminate me if I don\'t achieve the targets?

Hi,
No they can't terminate you, the maternity benefit act says there is no termination or notice to women worker at pregnancy time. even act says pregnant women can be allocated not tedious work during pregnancy work at the request of woman worker.
I suggest you ask your employer to reduce your target to facilitate good health.

Dear Madam,
While pregnancy,it is not acceptable legally also to terminate and even they can't force you for heavy work also.So if you are facing issue severely, contact lawyer for the proper guidance. Don't give resignation letter fro your side, also you will get maternity benefits if your are exempted from ESI from your Company i.e 3 month leave with wages(45 days before delivery and 45 days after delivery) as per Maternity act.

Legally they cannot terminate you.
Politely explain the problem to the company as far as targets are concerned.
Refer section 4,5 and 6 of Maternity benefits Act for better understanding.
Even difficult work cannot be assigned to you in the last six weeks before delivery.
